What have I learned?

Since working at Burger King I have learned many different things. Since this is the only job I have ever had, I think it does a good job teaching the basic skills that everybody needs to know in life. It has taught me basic things like: basic working skills, Social skills, and leadership.

Working skills, the everyday things I use in life like to be on time wherever I go, to be prepared, and to be more responsible. I am always on time to where I am going weather it is school, work or an appointment. I am prepared for class by always having the material we need, for work I am prepared with my uniform, and anything else I might need. More responsible in the sense that I always get what I need done on time, if I don't understand I get help. When I am doing the books at work and I am off by a lot of money I get another manager that is higher than I am to help me out.

I have learned leadership skills working at Burger King. This is because I became a manager almost a year ago. I have learned how to treat my employees from other managers who have taught me what I should know. If I get another job and become a manager there I will already know how to treat the employees. Basically if you treat them with respect they will treat you with the same respect that you want.

Finally, social skills. When I first got a job at Burger King I was extremely shy. After meeting a lot of people there, I started becoming more and more talkative. I started talking to the customers more often, and other co workers. I developed many close friendships working there the past few years. I enjoy seeing all my friends weather they work there or don't. I think being social is a good skill to have learned because that is how you meet all of these new people and you really and truly will never know what they are like until you meet them.

  1. Hi Nikki,
I think you're a hundred percent right with your latest post. It truely blows my mind, that so many people don't care if there on time. Also a postive attitude about work is everything. I have seen you at work, and I know you're one hell of an employe. I would also like to say something about social skills, what I like to call networking. This is so very important in the world of business. It's not what you know, but it's who you know. You are more than likely building a network at Burger King, that you could benifit from for a life time. Keep up the good work Nikki.

  2. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on this, Jeff, since you're an employer yourself. You have the best perspective on this, I bet.

It sounds like this job has been a great experience for you, Nikki. One really does learn a lot at a job, but especially one like yours where you have a leadership position. What good training that is for any job. Someday, you'll leave BK far behind, but the lessons you've learned here are crucial and really do set you up to be a lifelong good employee.

    Good work! I'd hire you!:-)

  3. Why are they quick to offer discounts online, where anyone could download and print these vouchers? This is because the concept of online marketing is still beneficial for them—they offer discounts in exchange for increased sales Go to: Burger King Coupons
